Terms of Use
These terms cover your use of this website. They are not the terms of any work we might do for you — that comes later, in writing, and is dealt with in section 06.
The three that actually matter. The savings calculator produces estimates from figures you supply, not a promise of what you will save. The prices shown are starting points, confirmed in writing before any work begins. And reading this site does not make you our client — that only happens when we have both signed an engagement letter.
01 Who we are
This site is operated by Arbab Advisory, the accounting and advisory practice of Arbab Abdur Rahman, ACCA, [[TRADING_STATUS]], at [[ADDRESS]]. Where these terms say "we", "us" or "our", that is who is meant. "You" means anyone using the site.
By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
02 Using this site
You may read, print and share this site freely for your own or your business's purposes. You agree not to:
- use it for anything unlawful, or in a way that could damage or disrupt it;
- attempt to gain access to any part of it, or any server behind it, that is not intentionally made available;
- submit anything false, abusive, or belonging to someone else through the enquiry form; or
- scrape or copy it systematically to build a competing service.
Please do not send confidential financial documents, bank details, tax references or identity documents through the enquiry form. It is intended for a first message only. Once we are talking, we will arrange a secure way to exchange anything sensitive.
03 The savings calculator
The calculator on this site estimates what your bookkeeping may currently be costing you, and compares that with our published plan prices. It is a conversation starter. It is not a quotation, a valuation, a financial projection, or advice of any kind.
You should understand how it arrives at its figures:
- The inputs are yours. The hours, the value you place on an hour of your time, and anything you already pay are all figures you supply. We cannot verify them, and the output is only ever as sound as what goes in.
- The cost of your own time is not money leaving your account. It is the value of hours you could have spent otherwise. Whether that value is real for your business depends entirely on what you would actually have done with the time.
- The bookkeeper comparison is a model, not a quote. It applies assumed hourly rates and a minimum engagement to your stated workload. Real bookkeepers price differently, and what someone would actually charge you may be higher or lower.
- Penalties are shown separately and deliberately. They are published figures for filing late. They represent a risk you carry, not a cost you incur every year, and they are not added into any comparison. They are correct to the best of our knowledge on the date shown, but penalty regimes change — always check the current position with the relevant authority.
- Every assumption is on the page. The "How this is worked out" panel beneath the calculator shows each figure and each sum. Nothing is hidden.
No result the calculator produces is a promise, guarantee or representation that you will save any particular amount, or anything at all. Your actual position depends on your circumstances, and we will only give you a real figure after a proper conversation.
04 Prices shown on this site
Published plan prices are honest starting points for the work described, not fixed offers capable of acceptance. Every business is different: transaction volume, the state of your records, payroll, deadlines and complexity all move the number.
Your actual fee is scoped, quoted and agreed in writing before any work begins, following a free consultation. We will not begin chargeable work without that agreement, and we do not issue surprise invoices. Prices may change, and the figures on this site apply only while they are displayed.
05 UK and US visitors
This site shows different pricing, terminology and information depending on whether you are viewing the UK or US version. You can switch between them at any time using the region selector in the pricing section, and the choice is yours to make — an initial guess based on your device's time zone is only a default.
Services, terminology and applicable rules genuinely differ between the two. Information shown for one region should not be relied on if you operate in the other.
For US businesses, our work is bookkeeping, reporting, payroll and advisory. Unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing, we do not prepare or file US federal or state tax returns, and we do not represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service. We work alongside your CPA or Enrolled Agent, who remains responsible for your filings.
06 No advice, and no client relationship
Everything on this site is general information. It is not accounting, tax, financial or legal advice, and it does not take account of your circumstances. Do not act on it, or refrain from acting, without advice specific to you.
Using this site, submitting the enquiry form, or having an initial conversation with us does not make you our client and creates no duty of care. We become your accountants only when we have agreed the work in a signed engagement letter. That engagement letter — not this page — sets out what we will do, what it costs, and the terms of our professional relationship. If anything in it conflicts with these terms, the engagement letter wins.
07 Our content
The text, design, graphics, logo and code on this site belong to us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other rights. You may not reproduce or republish substantial parts of it commercially without our written permission. Quoting a short passage with a credit and a link is fine.
The Arbab Advisory name and logo may not be used without our permission.
08 Availability
We try to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice, and we are not obliged to keep any information on it up to date.
09 Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. This includes any liability we may have under professional regulation.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of this site or reliance on its content — including lost profit, lost business, lost savings, or any indirect or consequential loss. In particular, we are not liable for decisions taken on the basis of the savings calculator or the published prices, both of which are estimates as explained in sections 03 and 04.
Our liability for work we actually carry out for you is dealt with in your engagement letter, not here.
10 Links to other sites
Where we link to another website, it is because we think it is useful. We have no control over those sites and are not responsible for their content, their accuracy, or how they handle your information. A link is not an endorsement.
11 Regulation and complaints
Arbab Abdur Rahman is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is bound by its Code of Ethics and Conduct.
If something goes wrong, please tell us first — abdur@arbabadvisory.com — and we will look into it properly and respond. If we cannot resolve it between us, you may be able to take the matter to ACCA under its complaints process.
12 Governing law
These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or your use of this site, are governed by the laws of [[JURISDICTION]], and the courts of [[JURISDICTION]] have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of any protection given to you by the mandatory law of the country where you live.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
13 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here is the one that applies, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Please check back occasionally.
